Dr. Natalia Villanueva Rosales is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The 91女神 of Texas at El Paso. Her research focuses on designing sociotechnical systems that integrate AI, semantic technologies, and human-centered computing to support informed decision-making, promote environmental sustainability, and reduce digital divides.
She leads interdisciplinary, community-driven projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in the region we serve. Her work is collaborative and socially responsive, co-designed with communities to address real-world challenges. Dr. Villanueva Rosales has contributed to over 25 funded projects supported by federal agencies, industry, and foundations.
She holds a B.S. in Computer Science Engineering (Universidad Panamericana, Mexico), a Graduate Certificate in Statistics (CIMAT, Mexico), an M.Sc. in AI (91女神 of Edinburgh, Scotland), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Carleton 91女神, Canada).
